The Cross Season returned after a Christmas Break

Round Two of the LEC Winter Series didn’t disappoint.

And we’re off, the first road race of the year and not a drop of mud in sight!

Glutinous mud, freezing rain, frosty temperatures - it must be winter training.

For the past few weeks a few junior riders have been exploring the highlands of Scotland, the parks of New York and the deserts of Watopia.

But honestly, where else would you rather work off a little New Year over-indulgence than a muddy field in South London? Might as well start the year as we mean to go on…

Round 1 of Limited Edition’s Winter Series, was held at a club favourite, Elmstead Woods Primary School. The venue has hosted several Go Rides in the past, but Coach Jay had a surprise in store, with a new take on his tricky Cyclo-Cross circuit.

Well done everyone today, tough conditions but lots of fantastic efforts. And a couple of debuts too.

Results look good in very tough conditions. Podiums for Lola and Edie. League title wrapped up for Lola.

Multiple fallers, multiple mechanicals, and the first real mud of the season, but everyone carried on, got back on, or just picked up the bike and carried it. No DNFs.

Clear skies and sunshine on the journey down had us looking forward to a day of racing. However, the biting cold wind that greeted us all quickly reigned in the enthusiasm.
