// SPRING IN THE PARK PREVIEW

Remco has confirmed he’s riding the Tour, Vos has picked up a win for the eighteenth year in a row and a successful Cross season for Limited Edition Cycling has come to a close.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Road Season!

// Spring In the Park

A favourite series of ours is Spring In the Park. Seven events, categories for Under 8s to Under 16s, all in the same venue on Friday nights and Saturday mornings and no need to pressure wash the bikes.

Each event will be slightly different with start/finish lines at different points of the course, a longer race format and a TT night.

// REGIONAL LEVEL

The series is Regional level racing, so riders join from across the South East. It’s a step up from Go Ride (on a par with the London & South East Cross League) but a friendly environment for both riders and spectators.

// Race Squad

LEC will be entering a Race Squad for the series based on the following requirements:

// Riders completing at least five of the seven events.
// Green Machine support for teammates in other races.
// Volunteering on our host night (21st June).

Completing five events allows riders to reclaim entry fees from the club (c.£8 per race).

Expect some great racing, warm weather, perhaps a sunset over the charming market town of Gravesend and at least one traffic jam on the A2.

// SUMMARY

Spring in the Park is a fantastic, well-organised series of road racing on a closed, traffic-free course. We’re big fans at LEC. There is a strong standard of entrants but a good mix, allowing riders to push themselves against teams from across the south east. Racing is taken seriously, things get tactical in the older age groups, but within a welcoming, friendly environment for riders and support crews alike.
