// CYCLOCROSS Season: Half term review
As an old British Cycling commissaire friend, Mr Jonathan Bonaparte-Jovi once said “Wooooooah, we’re halfway there”
October ended and somehow, the CX squad have completed half of the races. Has it really been eight weeks since that sunny start back in Brighton for Round One? Apparently it has, so lets have a look at how we’ve done:
// Under 8s
Woody dominated the early races, but a new contender appeared for the final race of the first half determined to push Woody all the way. This highlights the importance of hitting the ground running and getting those points on the board in the early rounds. Also worth noting that Woody is somehow in his third season aged just seven!

Kasper has been on or around the podiums, but Rupert is closing in on him FAST!! Some great battles to come from these two! Debut season for Otto and wow he has impressed, each round improving and breaking into top ten yesterday at Somerhill!
Teddy has moved up a category and a bike size and is handling both admirably, again having his best result so far at Somerhill yesterday! Technically Arto rides CX for 4T+ (Booooo!) and only Go Ride for LEC, but he's had a cracking start to his first regional season too so worth a mention here!
Whether its on the podium, on the overall leaderboard, or just looking after Woody's brother Silas(!) our U10 girls Lola, Enyo and Olive are always found together. A great advert for how we want our CX squad to be. As committed to being friends off the bike as they are to the races when on it.
On course for an overall league podium lockout which would be awesome!

Kien has entertained us all with his dynamite starts, with Ivo and Elias trading blows behind him, having moved up an age cat this season. Ivo wins the heart on his sleeve award so far, he always looks like he's giving 110%. Vicente was yet another rider who posted his best result of the season at Somerhill yesterday, which bodes well for the next half.
And another newcomer to the CX Team, Tumas, has slotted in well, even showing up for an East Kent League race such is his enthusiasm. A cameo appearance from Tejus at Herne Hill reminded us all what its like to see him powering round a CX course, he's been missed by all this season!

Illness has cost Floyd a couple of rounds so far, but then his first regional podium in East Kent couldn’t have been more deserved for our 2024 rider's choice winner.
Another newcomer to the team, Natalie, has gone from not having an off road bike to taking on a CX league season almost overnight! And she's done it all with a smile too - Chapeau! Kiera has only managed two of the five races this season, but then she has raced in Belgium which trumps Herne Hill any day of the week!
And last but not least, the rider with the dedicated fan club, Edie, has bagged some podiums already and has her work cut out to keep her "best LEC smile on a bike" title from Natalie.
