Our latest acquisitions:

This VeloPlus bike enables a wheelchair user to take part in cycling activities without having to be moved from their chair. Simply back the wheelchair onto the platform and off you go!

This great asset has been purchased using funds raised by the Rotary Club of Greenwich.

We wish to express a big thank you to them!

We were lucky enough to find this little gem on ebay for £1,000, complete with original tools and rain cover, it cost nearly £4,000 new!

It's called a Duet, and the rear bike detaches from the wheelchair, so when you get to the tea stop, you can leave the bike outside and wheel your cycling companion straight to a table.

Now please help us to raise the funds for this:

This is the next adapted bike on the hit list for LEC.

Where did it all start?

It all started on Friday 19th October 2012, when we presented the first ever Limited Edition Cycling All Abilities Road Show, in conjunction with Wyborne Primary School in New Eltham. We arranged for a number of adapted bikes to be there for youngsters with disabilities to try out, courtesy of the Surrey Wheels For All charity.

Over 100 children took part from both Wyborne Primary and Charlton Park Academy, with varying needs from autism, to being in a wheelchair.

We had visitors from NHS, British Cycling, Corelli College, Sustrans, School Travel and local MP Clive Efford.

Despite the rain in the afternoon, spirits couldn't be dampened, and giggles were heard all afternoon as the youngsters and visitors attempted to steer double hand cranked bikes, wheelchair bikes, trikes and balance bikes around an obstacle course.

After a recent short break and a change of venue, Unique has reopened at Stationers Crown Woods Academy, with a fleet of bikes, trikes, handcycles and new adapted bikes.

We are now seeking to raise money for a much needed side-by-side tandem. These bikes cost £5,000 upwards, but if you think of 100 people using them over the course of a year, that is just £50 per person. But take away the monetary value and think of the pleasure these trikes will give to people who are currently excluded from the world of cycling!

We will be inviting individuals and organisations from all over the Royal Borough to come and use the equipment. All cycling activities will be provided by qualified and experienced volunteers, so all money raised will go on the bikes and equipment.
