Ride Levels:

 

LEVEL 1

Fit camp. Very easy paced mainly flat ride of up to 12 miles. Frequent stops to regroup at junctions, hilltops etc. Mid ride refreshment stop.

 

LEVEL 2

Easy paced beginners ride: Up to 10 mph; up to 20 miles; mainly flat but with some inclines; stops to regroup and fix punctures; mid-ride refreshment stop at café.

 

LEVEL 3

Easy to mid-paced ride for more experienced riders: 10-12 mph; up to 30 miles; easy hills; stops to regroup and fix punctures; mid-ride refreshment stop at café.

 

LEVEL 4

Mid-paced ride for experienced riders: 11 – 13 mph; up to 40 miles; longer, steeper hills – approximately 1,500 feet of climbing; stops to regroup and fix punctures; mid-ride refreshment stop at café.

 

LEVEL 5

Faster-paced ride for advanced riders: 14-16 mph; up to 50 miles; longer, steeper hills – approximately 2,000 feet of climbing; stops to regroup

 

LEVEL 6

Fast-paced ride for advanced riders: 15+ mph; 50+ miles; longer, steeper hills – 2,000+ feet of climbing; stops for mechanicals; stops to regroup or refresh optional and should be stated in the ride description.

 

Hors Categorie (HC)

Specialist rides aimed at developing a specific skill or skills, e.g. distance; endurance; climbing. Pace may vary; total climbing may vary; stops may or may not be included.
